Half-Time at College Park

College Park, Md. -- With a trip to Rutgers on Monday, the Terps may have looked past Ohio State a little bit. But the first half proved that's not so. At halftime, the Terrapins lead the Buckeyes 39-25.

No player on either side has reached double-digits yet, and Maryland's reserve forward Jade Perry leads all scorers with 8 points.

The Terps are even impressing some of their male counterparts, who came out to support the team tonight.

I ran into guard Greivis Vasquez of the men's team during halftime and he was proud of the women's work so far.

"They're too good," Vasquez said. "They're gonna win the national championship. Kristi Toliver is playing amazingly."

While it may be too early for Vasquez's championship prediction, the Terps have certainly showed that they are capable, beating ranked team after ranked team, like they'll have to do in March. If they can hold onto this 14-point lead, they will be 4-0 against teams in the top-25 this season.

Meanwhile, Ohio State needs to come out hot if they want to think about a potential upset any longer. If they dig themselves into a deeper hole, they won't have a chance to come back.

Marscilla Packer has yet to get into the scoring column for the Buckeyes. She needs to assert herself more in the offense and start hitting some shots for Ohio State to get going.
