Vols pulling away

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- No. 1 Tennessee used a smoothering defense and a whole lot of offense from Candace Parker to pull away from No. 16 West Virginia in the second half before a crowd of 10, 677, the largest crowd ever to see a women's basketball game in the state.

Parker had scored 25 points and grabbed down 13 minutes with eight minutes to go, lifting Tennesee to a 57-39 lead.

Tennessee was dominating the game with its defense, forcing WVU into hurried shots and turnovers. The Vols were turning those turnovers into easy points.
