No. 1 Tennessee goes down

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.- Tennessee built a 21-2 lead over LSU early in the first half, then watched everything fall apart. They dropped their first home game of the season to the Tigers 78-62 as LSU went on a 76-41 run to end the game.

Sylvia Fowles controlled the paint in the second half and the Tigers made their free-throws late as they knocked off Tennessee for the second straight time. LSU ended the Lady Vols SEC Tournament last year in Atlanta. Fowles finished with 17 points.

Candace Parker led the Lady Vols with 26 points, but really struggled in most of the second half.

The score does not reflect the play during most of the game. It was actually close throughout the second half, but Tennessee began to foul with two minutes remaining and stretched the lead.

The final update will come after the coaches press conference.
