BC and Maryland Start Off Fast

By David Scott - December 10, 2006

CHESNUT HILL, Mass. - Some fast-paced action to start off as BC leads 8-7 at the under-16:00 timeout.

Jared Dudley has been playing particularly inspired ball for BC, starting off with four of BC’s first six points. James Gist has four of the Terps first 7.

. . . BC has started in a two-three zone, Maryland started off in full court press and then fell back into a man-to-man.

. . . Good work on the part of the BC crowd in getting in their seats for Tipoff - Conte was 80 percent filled by the time the ball went up at 6:40 p.m

. . . Maybe the BC students are too young to remember DJ Strawberry’s dad - on his first miss of the game, they neglected to serenade him with chants of “Darryl.” Before the game was a minute old, Strawberry had already picked up his second foul and was sent to the bench.

. . .Not a bad traveling party for the Terps, with a vocal group sitting just behind the Terps’ bench (we’ve yet to catch Novak screaming at any of the officials).
