Minutemen Extend Lead Early

By David Scott - December 06, 2006

BOSTON - UMass continues to show flashes of good team play and has doubled its half-time lead to 36-30 with 15:12 left in the game.

UMass’s Luke Bonner hit his first collegiate 3-pointer at the 18:00 minute mark to put UMass ahead 32-28. Bonner is a sophomore transfer from West Virginia where he played in 22 games and went 0 for 11 from 3-point range as a freshman.

Bonner also has four fouls, three of which came in the first four minutes of the second half.

He is the brother of Toronto Raptor Matt Bonner (formerly of Florida).

. . . It’s definitely a UMass crowd as the cheers have been louder on big Minuteman buckets than they have for the hometown Terriers.

. . . BU has come out shooting just 2-of-7 in the seocnd half and UMass has not missed any of its four shots. If that trend continues, well, you can predict the rest. . . Corey Lowe is now 2-of-11 from the field.
