Starting to Pick Up a Bit

WORCESTER, Mass. - A sloppy affair to start off with Mason holding a 5-4 lead with 11:37 left in the half.

Both teams are playing as if it's an empty building (which is basically is) and as if they'd rather be wrapping holiday gifts (but at this pace, they wouldn't finish until St. Patrick's Day).

Holy Cross has started of 2 of 8 from the field and Mason has come out 2 of 6. Turnovers are also plaguing both teams through the games first 8-plus minutes.

. . . Holy Cross senior, Keith Simmons, entered the game scoring 17.3 ppg and grabbing 5.9 rpg - he's truly a treat to watch. For Holy Cross's first points of the game he hit fade away baseline jumper with one second left on the shot clock. It was nothing but net.
