Williams Swats Away

By David Scott - December 10, 2006

CHESNUT HILL, Mass. - Maryland continues to linger and hover, keeping the game to two possessions, 56-50, with 7:54 left in the game.

. . . BC's Sean Williams has once again been a force in the paint with two blocks on the same possession (at just under 8:00) and an altered shot at the end of the sequence that led to it being BC’s ball. A made field goal would have cut the lead to four.

. . . James Gist’s steal and dunk with 9:17 left in the game (cutting the BC lead to six) was roundly booed after the Conte fans thought Gist - like Oates - had hung on the rim. The replay showed it was negligible at best. Good no call.

. . . Following his And-One lay-up with 11:16 left in the game, Jared Dudley went looking for fans to high-five along the baseline. His free throw gave the Eagles a 52-42 lead with 11:14 left. Those points tied Dudley with Michael Adams for 10th on the BC career scoring list (1,650).
