America's Got Talent, and So Does the Big East

STORRS, Conn. - Jeff Adrien has kept his Huskies close in this one and UConn has picked up its intensity to close out the half, as MU leads 32-28 at the break.

Adrien leads all scorers with 11 points and five rebounds. Marquette is led by Jerel McNeal’s 10 points and four rebounds and Ousmane Barro has chipped in eight points and seven rebounds.

. . .The teams have combined for 44 rebounds (23 for MU). UConn is shooting 28 percent form the field (8 of 29) and MU is at an even 40 percent (12 of 30). Uconn has edged ahead in second chance points, 9-2 and MU leads in the fast break, 8-2. The Husky bench is outscoring the Golden Eagle reserves 13-4. Marquette’s biggest lead has been eight, UConn’s was one, to start the game.

. . . Jim Calhoun left the court slowly and appeared to be looking in the general direction of where some of the boos were emanating from during a rough stretch of the first half. He seemed ready to fight about 10 or 20 dudes. And we aren’t thinking the dudes would have had a fighting chance.

. . . UConn has led at the half of all 12 wins this season and now has a record of 376-38 when leading at the half under Jim Calhoun. UConn has trailed at the half of both losses this season.

. . .America’s Got Talent, talent, Lilia Stepanova, shot a bow and arrow with her feet during half time. True story. It was a bull’s eye and the Husky mascot was well out of firing range, so PETA need not be called.

You can enjoy the petite Stepanova below. Quite a little firecracker she is. (And check out David Hasselhoff's reaction when she does the foot's eye, bull's eye:
