'Cats Continue to Lead

PROVIDENCE – Villanova continues to hold onto a nine point lead, 65-56, with 7:51 left in the game.

‘Nova freshman Scottie Reynolds has 16 points, 10 in the second half and has very much assumed the reigns for the Wildcats. Mike Nardi still sits on 16 points, his first half total.

. . . Herbert Hill registered a crowd-shaking block with 9:29 left and then had another block on the same possession to help lead to a fast break opportunity.

. . . Sharaud Curry (16 points) and Dwain Williams (17) continue to lead PC in scoring and both Nardi and Reynolds have 16 for ‘Nova.

. . . It appears Curtis Sumpter is done for the evening for Villanova. He gave it a gallant effort.

. . . A member of the PC student section was ejected from the game after screaming loudly at one of the referees after he offered to pay the zebra for a better-called game. The struggling student was only offering singles, which may be why he was he booted. Son, if you’re gonna bribe a guy, break out the 20s or don’t even bother heckling.
