Huskies Continue to Look Sluggish

By David Scott - January 10, 2007

STORRS, Conn. - UConn continues to look out of sorts and has now turned the ball over 12 times through 12:06 (resulting in 12 Marquette points). MU leads 18-12 with 7:54 left in the half.

The Huskies are very fortunate that the Golden Eagle isn’t larger as they have been thoroughly outplayed to this point.

. . . Ousmane Barro has five rebounds to lead all players at the under 8:00 media timeout. MU holds a slim 14-13 rebounding edge.

. . . UConn didn’t take its first 3-pointer until the 10th minute mark of the first half (a miss by Jerome Dyson). Both teams are 0 for 2 form beyond the arc.

. . . Tom Crean is a maniac on the sideline, storming up and back shouting encouragement to his troops.

. . . UConn had an issue getting practice time on its home court yesterday and Jim Calhoun was none too pleased about the situation, just about demanding a dedicated practice facility for his program. We think we know why he was so angry that Huskies couldn’t get adequate time: they are not ready to play, plain and simple.
