ODU Re-takes Control

By David Scott - January 03, 2007

BOSTON - Northeastern senior Adrian Martinez has been solid for the Huskies in the early going with back-to-back possessions that resulted in three-point plays (one new-fangled, one old-fashioned). ODU is getting contributions up and down the roster.

Northeastern went into a bit fo a scoring drought, as ODU extended its lead to 28-19 with 3:35 left in the half.

. . . Never underestimate the beauty of a non-televised college game. We're on pace for a briskly played, 90 minute contest. All those extended TV timeouts really have a way of disrupting the ebb and flow of the game. (Except the CSTV games, of course, which are always a tour de force of broadcasting excellence.)

. . . ODU center and 7-footer, Sam Harris, has a strong facial resemblance to Saturday Night Live's Andy Samberg. Samberg is probably funnier, but I'd rather have the 7-3 Tasmanian in the middle.

. . . The new Cindex Ratings are out, and Nevada has stepped over Butler for the No. 1 spot.
