PC Prevails in Impressive Fashion

PROVIDENCE - The Friars (11-3) put on what was probably its best overall performance of the season as they hustled their way to an 74-59victory over Marquette (13-3) in both teams conference opener.

PC had four scorers in double figures, led by Hill’s 23 points, including a monster dunk with 3:24 left that put the lead at 64-50 and salted away the victory for PC.

. . . The overrated chants started with two minutes left in the game. We tend to disagree and remind everyone how much different things might have been if MU had the services of Jerel McNeal. True, too, that PC was missing Sharaud Curry, but the Golden Eagles rely a bit more heavily on the defense and shooting of McNeal.

. . . Marquette now returns home to play Syracuse on Sunday at 7 p.m. PC is home on Saturday for Seton Hall for an 8 p.m. tip

. . .Our postgame plan, as always, will be to work the post-game pressers and the locker rooms and then file a late night columnette on the game. Be sure to check back in the morning.

. . . Our next scheduled Hang Time live-blog is for next Wednesday's UConn-Marquette game, a 7:30 tip.
