PC Takes Lead as Dwain Drains 3s

By David Scott - January 23, 2007

PROVIDENCE – The Friars tied the score at 27-27 with 4:22 left in the half and then took its first lead of the game with 3:49 left on a Dwain Williams 3-pointer. On the next trip down for PC, Williams drained another 3-pointer to boost the lead to 33-29 - it was his third of the game (nine points total).

. . . Curtis Sumpter continues to come in and out and he is clearly not any where near 100 percent.

. . . At the under-8:00 timeout, ‘Nova was shooting 56 percent from the field and PC was shooting 67 percent. The ‘Cats are outscoring the Friars 14-6 in the paint and have turned 10 PC turnovers into 11 points. PC is also being out-rebounded 9-5.

. . . We realize we may lose some of you with the State of the Union coming up, but we’d encourage you to watch Bush and read Hang Time, in the interest of national security.
