Duke Not Dead by a Long Shot

By David Scott - February 14, 2007

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Garbage time has come early and often to this one, as the Blue Devils are running the Eagles out of their own building with a 65-41 lead and 12:47 left in the game.

BC has been flat from midway through the first half and some of the fans are starting to sense it as they prepare to face the cold Boston night.

. . . In other ACC action tonight, the now 3-9 Wake Forest Demon Deacons beat Clemson to send the Tigers to 5-6 in league play. Assuming this result stays where it's at, the Eagles will remain in first place (barely) with a 9-3 league mark, North Carolina (who visits Conte on Saturday) is 8-3, as is Virginia Tech and Virginia. Duke would move to 6-6.

In other words - the death of Duke has been greatly exaggerated.

. . . Russert has been calm and is now talking to Flutie who is two seats from him. We're on you Tim - keep it clean, pal.
