Duke Pouring It On

By David Scott - February 14, 2007

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Josh McRoberts continues to assert his will upon BC, scoring the Blue Devils’ first four points of the half (18 for the game). At the under-16:00 media timeout, the Blue Devils lead 57-38.

The lead ballooned to 51-36 with less than two minutes gone by in the half and BC continuing to be plagued by inopportune turnovers and sloppy play. The lead went to its current 19 with 15:58 left in the game on a Duke steal and lay-in.

. . . DeMarcus Nelson is now playing with three fouls as well.

. . . Jared Dudley plyed 19 minutes in the first half and had two points, zero rebounds, three assists and three personal fouls. He did score in the paint on BC’s first possession of the half to cut the lead to nine.

. . . The Celtics did, indeed, get their first win in 19 games with a 117-97 victory over hapless Milwaukee. They go into the All-Star break on a one-game winning streak and are poised to start another long, losing skid when the return from the Vegas break (with a five-game western swing to open the second portion of the season next week).
