Black Out Night Knocks Out Rhody

By David Scott - February 08, 2007

AMHERST, Mass. - This has got to be one of UMass's most well-balanced efforts of the season. Travis Ford has had contributions up and down the roster and the Minutemen are playing with passion and poise. WIth 7:46 left in the game, the Minutemen lead 67-46.

If they continue to play like this, the Minutemen will not only be favorites to win the A-10 Tournament in Atlantic City, they will start to become a trendy "Cinderella" pick come NCAA Tournament Time.

. . . Drexel gets a HUGE win in comeback fashion by beating Hofstra 95-87 in CAA action. Can't wait to hear Bryan Graham give me the details of Bruiser Flint's monster win.

. . . Tonight's crowd of 8,358 is the largest for a home, A-10 game at the Mullins Center since a sell-out crowd against Temple on Feb. 17, 2001 (filled, 9,943). It is the second-largest crowd of the season, as the place was knocked out against BC on Dec. 2, in a loss. More than 3,500 students are in the house on Black Out night.
