A-10: Twenty Minutes to the Tournament

By Matthew Shapiro - March 10, 2007

ATLANTIC CITY - With a 16-6 run to close out the half, GW now holds a 44-36 lead. Towards the end of the half, as GW was hitting shots and making steals, the crowd reached a, dare I say, deafening pitch. Nah, I won't dare say that, but it was pretty darn loud. Loudest it's been so far in this building.

Seawright and Baron, the two guys I said needed to play well in order for URI to win, are having pretty average games, each with only four points. Will Daniels leads the way for Rhody with 12. Mo Rice only has 5 for GW, but he is getting picked up by his teammates, as four Colonials have seven or more points.

Right now I'm watching the finals of the CSTV Atlantic 10 shootout. It's a pretty fun competition, where a team of one man and one women from each of the A-10 schools takes shots from around the court, which each area having a different point total. The team from Duquesne just shot the lights out and won the championship round and $10,000. Pretty nice night's work for them.
