ACC: Duke Widening Advantage

By - March 08, 2007

The Wolfpack countered Duke's eight unanswered points with a 9-3 run of their own to open a 23-21 edge. Could have been more but N.C. State point guard par excellence Engin Atsur -- who logged time with the Turkish national side at this summer's FIBA Worlds -- missed the front end of a one-and-one.

State's lead would prove short-lived as Duke responded with three longballs in succession -- Martynas Pocius, Josh McRoberts and Pocius again -- to stake its largest lead of the game at 30-23. Play just broke for the last media timeout of the half with 2:34 remaining.
