Big Ten: Almost Time

By Phil Kasiecki - March 08, 2007

CHICAGO - The teams have finished warming up and we're closing in on the opening tip. The starting lineups are being announced as we speak. We'll check in during the game with notes on how the game play is proceeding, usually at media timeouts in addition to halftime and the end of the game.

  • ESPN2 has the broadcast of today's games. Brent Musberger has the play-by-play duties, with Steve Lavin on color commentary and Erin Andrews roaming the sideline.
  • Michigan won both meetings between the two teams in the regular season, pulling out an 82-80 win in Ann Arbor and winning by a 62-51 margin in Minneapolis two weeks later.
  • Last year, these two teams met in the Big Ten Tournament's first round as well, with No. 10 Minnesota pulling out a 59-55 win over the No. 7 Wolverines.
  • The national anthem was performed by the Michigan band.
