Big XII: Last Minute Sums Up Half

By Jean Neuberger - March 08, 2007

Iowa State was holding the ball for the last shot, as there was just a five second difference between the shot clock and game clock. However, the Cyclones lost control of the ball in the last few seconds, and the Sooners stole it just as the shot clock expired. Racing down the court, the ball found its way to a wide open Bobby Maze, who drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer, giving OU a 35-23 halftime lead.

It's been that kind of a first half for both teams. OU has been sharp, drawing fouls on offense and playing scrappy defense, giving their fans plenty of reasons to cheer. Meanwhile, Iowa State has struggled to find any tempo, aren't handling the ball well at all, and not getting the shots to fall.

Iowa State has got to adjust their defense to stop Carter and Taylor Griffin, while OU needs to play the next 20 minutes like the last 20.

It's all Sooners so far as we get ready for the second half.
