Big XII: Play Like There's No Tomorrow

By Jean Neuberger - March 10, 2007

During the post-game conference, over and over again, Coach Rick Barnes and his players were asked how on Earth the Longhorns were able to come back...

"I told them they've come back before," said Barnes. "I told them just to play as if there was no tomorrow, because that's what an NCAA Tournament game is like."

Kevin Durant agreed.

"Coach just told us to keep playing hard and be aggressive," he said. "We were tougher than them in the last ten minutes."

The post-game props though were directed to Craig Winder, who made the clutch shots late in the game to tie it, and then to take the lead for good for the Longhorns.

"I just did what was needed to do," said Winder.

Texas proved that they were for real in the second half, but can they bring the same energy tomorrow against Oklahoma State? That will be the question of the day tomorrow in the Big XII semifinals.
