CAA: Halftime Stats and Observations

By David Scott - March 03, 2007

RICHMOND - We knew ODU's shooting was bad, we didn't know it was 25 percent bad. The Monarchs hit on just 7 of 28 shots and only 4 of 15 from 3-point land to help account for the five-point halfctime deficit.

Towson connected on 50 percent of its shots - 12 of 24 and 1 of 1 form beyond the arc. The Tigers owned the paint, outscoring ODU 16-6 in the lane.

Both teams had 17 rebounds each and Towson had eight turnovers to ODU's five.

Towson's biggest lead of the half was 13 (with 3:14 left in the half) and ODU's came early on with its 8-0 jump-out (17:52).

. . . There's no way ODU can continue to shoot as poorly as they did the first half. They are a team that averages 70.8 points per game and right now are on pace to score just 50. So that's gotta change and probably will.
