CAA: Mason Holds Off Comeback Attempt by VCU

By David Scott - March 05, 2007

RICHMOND - VCU cut the Mason lead to one, but now the Patriots (behind four second hafl points from Dre Smith) have gone out to their largest lead of the game.

VCU continues to have troubles form beyond the arc as Jess Pellot-Rosa just front-rimmed a three ball before the under-16:00 timeout.

. . . Mason continues to play like it has not a care in the world and as if they are the favorites not the decided underdog.

. . . VCU came out with a quick bucket on a fast break alley-oop to B.A Walker and Mason coach Jim Larranaga immedieatly (and smartly) called a timeout at 18:52 to stem any tide and keep the crowd from getting to boisterous.

. . . Pav's latest: "Cinderella? Evil Step-sisters Punished Now" After penning that opus, he sprinted over to the pep band and tried to fire up the fans. Let's hope he doesn't start taking off his layers the way the band director did.
