CAA: Mason Stays On Top

By David Scott - March 04, 2007

RICHMOND - We are being reminded almost constantly that no small part of George Mason's run last season was due to the outstanding coaching of Jim Larranaga and his staff. The Patriots are playing inspired, team ball at both ends of the floor and today, sophmore Dre Smith is leading Mason with 12 points through the game's first 16 minutes.

. . . With 3:56 left in the half, Mason maintains a comfortable 12 point cushion, 29-17 and ODU seems to have no answers for the spunky Pats.

. . . Our guy Pav has gone to an illustration-based message in his latest effort as he taunts a very dark-skinned, white female cheerleader from ODU. The artistic drawing is accompanied by "Blue Eye Shadow?" "Spray on Tan" and a quote bubble reading, "I love Spam Harris." (Sam Harris is the ODU 7-footer.) His use of colors and expert eye really makes the guy much more than just a big, rotund Dry Erase board sketcher.

. . . More iced tea has appeared with us at courtside and we're tickled with the nicely cut lemon wedges that are included as a side dish.
