CAA: ODU Hangs On

By David Scott - March 03, 2007

RICHMOND - A thoroughly entertaining take for the opener to the twin bill night session - and this isn't even supposed to be the highlight of the night (Hofstra and George Mason figured to take that title).

With 50.2 seconds remaining, Gary Neal buried a three pointer from in front of the Towson bench to trim the lead to 58-55. ODU brought the ball up after a timeout and worked the clock down but failed to get a shot off. Towson then brought the ball up and Pat Kennedy called out a play - 'fist' - with no timeouts remaining. Freshman Rodney Spruill launched what would have been a game-tying 3-pointer. The ball fell off the front of the rim and ODU survives to advance to the semifinals on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.

Quite a game.

. . . We'll work the post game interviews and be back with you for tip of the night cap.

. . . How bout that Dr. Pepper! Really creates some good games when I drink it down. Thanks, Doc.
