CAA: Pride Getting Picked On

By David Scott - March 03, 2007

RICHMOND - Someone may have forgotten to tell Cinderella her reign was up. George Mason is playing very much like the team that got an at-large bid last season and has gotten out to a 17-11 lead with 10:40 left in the half.

Hofstra is being led by the deep shooting of Carlos Rivera who has nine early points, all on 3-pointers.

. . . We've switched back to water despite the great game that the Dr. Pepper produced for us. Can't be messing with that sugary stuff too much. We'll get whacky.

. . . Not sure who he is, and I'm pretty sure he's not a student, but George Mason has a pimp daddy in green that is on the court leading cheers and wielding a black cane with a green jewel as the handle. It's possible he's the bandleader, but it's also possible he is a leftover from the "Starsky and Hutch" remake with Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson.
