CAA: VCU Extends

By David Scott - March 04, 2007

RICHMOND - Jesse Pellot-Rosa is showing no signs of the injury that only allowed him eight minutes of play on Saturday as he leadsall scorers with 10 points and has been on fire late in the first half. The Rams enter the break with a 34-24 lead, the largest of the game for either side.

Drexel simply lost its focus in the latter part of the half and VCU capitalized with some efficient offensive production.

. . . VCU built an eight point lead with 2:08 left in the half on a 3-pointer by Pellot-Rosa, forcing Bruiser Flint to call a timeout. His team has become sloppy on offense (two straight turnovers) and a bit complacent on defense. Elegar came out of the timeout with another MONSTER dunk to trim the lead back to six. But VCU extended again.

. . . We'll be back with halftime stats and observations and some more of my newfound iced tea from Michelle the catering lady.
