CAA: VCU Very Impressive

By David Scott - March 03, 2007

RICHMOND - VCU finished things off and only a couple of late Panther scores kept the game from being a 20-point margin of victory. VCU won 73-60 and it wasn't nearly that close after Georgia State's early run of the second half.

VCU goes to 25-6 and awaits the winner of Drexel-Northeastern. Georgia State finishes at 11-20.

. . . We'll go work the post-game and be back with you for the start of Drexel-Northeastern. Hang tight.

. . . The Richmond Colisuem has a good deal of history to it and has hosted the CAA Tournament since 1990. It offers an easy travel destination for a good majority of the league's schools and the VCU crowd has been strong and supportive. All that said, this is a mid-major gym (built in 1971) lacking the amenities and accoutrements that are common to big-time arenas across the country. Still, the conference is committed to the building through 2012, so what do we know, really?
