Meadowlands: Welcome to Open Practice

By David Scott - March 22, 2007

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - Welcome to open practice for the Round of 16 at the Meadowlands Arena. Vanderbilt is currently on the court going through shooting drills. There's a smattering of fans in attendance, probably numbering a couple of hundred and both Jim Nantz and Billy Packer (who will call the game for mothership, CBS) are being de-briefed by the Vandy Sports Information Director.

With 17:00 left on the practice clock, players began taking free throws.

Our schedule of Pressers and practices follows after the jump.

. . . We'd expect the attendance to increase gradually over the course of teh afternoon, especially for the Hoya and Tar Heel practice sessions.

. . . It appears to be a brand new court that will be used for the three games that will be played here - the familiar faux parquet of the Nets is not down, instead there's a traditional hardwood floor with a black border, blue coloring filling the tops of each key and a blue NCAA logo at center court. There are also two red "Rs" representing Rutgers, the host institution for this site.

. . . We'll do our usual stop-ins for pressers and player interviews and check in with you regularly for what's going on both on-court and off.
