MVC: Sometimes, good seats aren't good seats

By Jerry Palm - March 02, 2007

I'm right behind the SIU bench today. Sometimes, good seats aren't good seats.

At the other end of the floor, Tony Young fell and was called for a foul, but we couldn't really see what happened. Lowery couldn't tell what happened either, so he turned to the bench and asked what happened. He got nothing but shrugged shoulders. He was taking Young out anyway ("Wes, Go!") because it was his third foul. When Young came over, Lowery asked him what happened, and Young said "he held me and I fell."

Then again, sometimes good seats really are good seats. Right after that, SIU was trying to pass the ball in on the opposite side and the the inbounder had to call timeout before the five seconds was up.

Lowery turned to the bench and yelled, "We are so <> bad, guys."

Since then, there have been a couple of tough calls against SIU and a couple of bad plays by them as well, and Lowery is getting pretty ticked.

You can imagine what it would be like if this were a game, but SIU is up 17.
