Pac-10: Friday Night Lights

By Jason Owens - March 09, 2007

It's a late start to the day for the Pac-10 semifinals as Oregon and Cal are about 10 minutes away from tipping off in prime time. So far the stands are far from full, but then again, this is Los Angeles -- and USC doesn't tip off for at least three hours.

The Ducks have to be happy about the prospect of facing No. 8 seed Cal tonight instead of UCLA, but if they get complacent or overlook the Golden Bears, it's going to spell trouble. During the first two days of the tournament, I've been impressed the most by Cal and their sudden stars Ayinde Ubaka and Ryan Anderson. And though head coach Ben Braun has more than likely put a moratorium on NCAA Tournament talk, the Bears have to be smelling it being two wins away.
