SEC: Gators Lead, But Limp Into Lockerroom

By David Scott - March 11, 2007

After a scramble for a loose ball with 34.5 seconds left, Florida's Al Horford limped off the court, under the tunnel and into the locker room. It appeared that Vincent Hunter of Arkansas may have fallen on Horford's knee. That would be a devestating blow to the Gators moiving forward.

At the half, Florida leads 36-28 and Arkansas is actually fortunate to have bene able to stay with the Gators despite losing its two big men for much of the half.

Fllorida, which trailed on the boards for much the half, winds up leading 22-19 on the boards at the half. They are shooting 44 percent for the game (12 of 27, 3 of 7 from 3-point land) and Arkansas is at 33 percent (11 of 33, 1 of 15).

Sonny Weems and Al Horford are the game's high-scorers. Horford also has a game-high seven rebounds.

. . . The Arkansas pom squad did a nice number at half to the motown song, "Rolling on the River." They wore gold tassly outifts that were, as Rainman might say, "sparkly."

Corey Brewer has been awfully quiet for the Gators and has seen his share of pine time this half. We did see Brewer cramping up in the post-game locke room on Saturday, but we doubt that has anything to do with his lack of minutes thus far.
