SEC: A One Point Contest at the Half

By David Scott - March 10, 2007

A very entertaining first half ends with State leading 40-39. Reginald Delk hit a late 3-pointer (he's 2 of 3 from beyond the arc) to give State its lead. He leads the Bulldogs with 10 points and Charles Thomas also has 10 for the Hogs.

. . . State is shooting 41 percent from the field (14 of 34) and Arkansas is at 40 percent (14 of 35). State is 6 of 15 form 3-point land, the Hogs are 4 of 11.

. . . The Arkansas dance team is doing a black go-go boot Disco routine complete with afro wigs and Foxy Brown looks to the song "Shake Your Groove Thing," leading into a "Funky Town" melange. Artistically and in choreograph it's quite creative. We'd still rather see a bit more flesh, but we're pigs. What do you expect.

State's "pom suad" is in white tank tops and balck knee-length nylons and tap pants (or what we would think are tap pants). They have balck ties, too and we're going to have to give them the edge, simply beacuse those afro wigs were brutal.

Boy do we miss the LSU dance team. Damn Big Baby ruined EVERYthing.

. . . Our table neighbor here courtside, Neal McCready of the Mobile Press-Register, is continually providing wonderful hoops rumors and this one on John Calipari probably has some serious legs to it. Calipari would certainly have to listen if the 'Cats came a calling and unlike the NC State job last year, this is one of the Top 5 jobs in all of college basketball. Let's be sure to keep an eye on this one.
