SEC: Cats Up Three At Half

By David Scott - March 09, 2007

Kentucky leads 34-31 at the break on the strength of Randolph Morris's 15 points (4 of 7 form the field, 7 of 9 from the line) and six rebounds. State is led by seven points from both Charles Rhodes (team high four rebounds) and Jamont Gordon.

State's field goal precentage is creeping up and now stands at 34 percent (12 of 35). Kentucky is 43 percent from the field (12 of 28) and has committed four more turnovers than State (9 to 5).

Both teams are establishing their presence in the paint with State scoring 20 in the lane to 18 for Kentucky. The Cats are winning the battle of the boards 22-18. Neither team can find the long range groove as State is 1 of 11 form 3-point land and the Cats are 2 of 11.

. . . Cute scene when the Bulldogs enter the court as they are led by Rick Stansbury's young son, Isaac (8 years old) in a No. 32 State jersey.

. . . The Arkansas team is sitting in the endzone seats reserved for non-playing teams and the Hogs are loose and easy as a few danced at their seats along with the State dance team as they performed. We're starting to think they don't know they're playing this afternoon's game against Vanderbilt for an NCAA bid.
