SEC: Cruising to the Inevitable

By David Scott - March 11, 2007

We're 1:17 from re-crowning the Gators champs as Florida leads 75-55. There will be post-game presentations of MVP and the championship trophy, which we'll stick around for and then work the post-game pressers and locker rooms.

Fans are chanting for Horford as the MVP, which is a distinct possibility. Or Noah.

Our plan is to find a reputable establishment to live-blog the selection show from beginning in the 5 p.m. hour, so be sure to check back here as you get set to watch the bracket unfold.

. . . Looks like State is giving UNC a run for its money in the final minutes down in St. Pete. Someone alert the Selection Committee that Hang Time spoke too soon.

. . . Today's game drew an announced crowd of 15,428 and the four day total attendance was announced at 172,840. It makes the 2007 SEC Tourney the 13th best-attended, just behind last year's 183,122 fans. The most-attended SEC Tourney was in 1995 in this building with 250,301 total fans. The declining averages suggest a couple of things - league fan leader Kentucky is slumping and maybe, just maybe, the tourney needs a more intimate setting.
