SEC: Gordon Sends Us to OT

By David Scott - March 09, 2007

A wild finish to regulation saw Jamont Gordon drive the court and pull up for a 3-pointer as the backboard turned red. The ball went swish for Gordon's first 3-pointer of the game. We go to OT tied at 76-76.

Earlier, a Joey Crawford desperation 3-point shot with the shot clock running down bounced on the back rim to the front rim and was tipped in by Sheray Thomas for his first 2-point basket of the game (he has one three as well). That gave the Cats a 75-73 lead.

. . . Kentucky led 75-73 with 24 second left and then stole the inbounds pass. Randolph Morris missed two. 17.7 seconds remain. His second free throw is no good and State Jamont Gordon drove the lane and the ball went out of bounds. Barry Stewart took the inbounds pass and launched a three (a two would have tied it) and now Kentucky's Jodie Meeks goe sto the line with 5.1 seconds remaining.

. . . A lane violation on Kentucky was called allowing State the last chance to tie the game which they did.
