SEC: Oh for Three Thus Far

By David Scott - March 08, 2007

The nightcap here in the Georgia Dome is going to have to be pretty damn good to make up for the three snoozers we've been enduring all day long. In the current laugher, Georgia is leading 60-45 with 10:35 left in the game.

The argument for a trimmed down SEC Tournament should begin now if it hasn't already. Games like these do nothing but dilute the product. The leagues - like the Big East - that leave some teams home for the conference Tournament might very well have the right idea - no matter the size of the league.

Takais Brown continues his dominant half, as he has 19 points, 13 of which have come in the first 9 minutes of this half.

Auburn has turned the ball over 16 times and Georgia has lost it just eight times.

. . . The Minutemen fall in overtime and eliminate themselves from NCAA Tournament consideration and they only have themselves to blame. Travis Ford's team has had trouble all year getting up for the big games (See: BC early in the season) and they probably never put together a full 40 minutes of basketball save for the home rout of Rhode Island. But Rhody plays again in AC and UMass goes home.

Yes, I'm a bitter alum right now. And no, I will not give to the alumni fund when they call.
