SEC: Ole Miss Builds on Lead

By David Scott - March 09, 2007

This is our second time seeing Ole Miss live as we caught them in Hartford in November against UConn. The Rebels are much improved and have definitely bought into Associated Press SEC Coach of the Year Andy Kennedy's system which mandates all-out hustle and aggressive defense. Both of those traits are evident early as the Rebels lead 14-6 with 11:26 left in the half.

. . . Kenny Williams now has eight points and the Rebs are out-boarding the Tigers 12-5.

. . . Bad news for our guy, Neubie, Jean Neuberger: no honey barbecue chips in the press room tonight. We've had to go with the Maizetos stone ground Corn Chips from Golden Flake and we can tell you without a doubt, they would pass a blind Frito taste test. That's high praise from this snacker. They truly are the little corn with the Big Corn Taste.

. . . The LSU dance team is entertaining during this timeout and the contest is over. Give the Tigerettes the award and let them dance to their hearts content. They're wonderful.

. . . The officials for the nightcap are crew chief Tony Greene, Tim Claugherty, Brian Forte and substitue official Antinio Petty.
