SEC: Rebels Impressive in Win

By David Scott - March 09, 2007

The Rebels maintained their intensity and poise throughout and finished off the Tigers with an 80-60 win.

. . . Bam Doyne finished with 26 points, eight rebounds and two assists. LSU was led by Tasmin Mitchell's 15 points. LSU shot 33 percent for the game (20 of 61) and Ole Miss shot 52 percent (27 of 52).

. . . A kid named "Spock" checked into the game for Ole Miss with 1:12 left. It's spelled Spach, however, and he did not appear to give the Vulcan sign.

. . . The announced attendance for the night session was 16, 203.

. . . The semifinals start at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon and we'll get with you about 30 minutes before the tip of Mississippi State and Arkansas. The second game is scheduled to go off at about 3:15 with Florida taking on Ole Miss. Sunday's title game will tip at 1 p.m. on CBS and then we plan on staying with you through the afternoon and during the Selection show as Jim Nantz and Billy Packer announce the field from right here at the Dome (we think).
