SEC: Vandy and Arkansas Underway

By David Scott - March 09, 2007

A huge deflation of emotion in the Dome as the sullen blue-clad fans are still trying to figure out the lane violation call on Sheray Thomas. (Which Tubby Smith took responsibility for in the post-game presser, "It was probably my fault, I told Sheray to back up and hadn't seen the ref give the ball to (the shooter)."

Meanwhile Vandy leads 9-6 with under 14:00 left in the half. SEC Player of the Year Derrick Byars has five of the Commodore's first nine points.

. . . Arkansas beat Vandy this past Saturday at Nashville, 82-67 and leads the all-time series 12-7. The teams have met just once in the SEC Tourney with the Hogs winning 73-72 behind Corliss Williamson's 16 points and 12 rebounds.
