Winston-Salem: Spartans Stuck

By Aaron Fitt - March 17, 2007

The first half came to a close on a strange note. After Michigan State's Drew Neitzel missed a jumper, the ball got wedged between the rim and the backboard as both teams battled for the rebound, and there it remained as the buzzer sounded and both teams went to their locker roms. That seemed an appropriate way for the Spartans to finish the half, because their offense was similarly stuck. MSU did not score in the final two minutes, as UNC built a 41-33 lead at the intermission.

Keep an eye on Hansbrough in the second half. He already has 19 points and could make a run at his career high of 40, set last year against Georgia Tech.
