Report: Huggins to West Virginia

By - April 05, 2007

A coaching carousel season that has already seen more unexpected developments than the entire NCAA Tournament took its latest twist Wednesday afternoon when FOXSports.com's Jeff Goodman (who's been really busy today) reported Kansas State coach Bob Huggins is returning to West Virginia after reaching a tentative agreement to coach the Mountaineers.

Goodman reports the announcement will be made public during a Friday news conference.

A Morgantown native, Huggins played three years for the Mountaineers from 1974 through 1977 and served as team captain during his senior season.

And so, about 20 months after University of Cincinnati president Nancy Zimpher called for Huggins to resign as the Bearcats prepared for their first season in the Big East, the controversial coach will make his debut in the conference after all.
