Pan Am Trials: Session Three Finishing Up

By David Scott - July 13, 2007

HAVERFORD, Pa. -- The camp is gaining more of a pronounced rythym as the third session winds down and it's a good bet that committee members are zeroing in on 18-20 players that will be worthy of the most looks in the remaining two sessions before cutdown day on Sunday.

Among the players who are consistently opening eyes and helping their own cause are Eric Maynor (and not just because were Maynor Maniacs, either), James Gist of Maryland, Alonzo Gee of Alabama, Shan Foster of Vanderbilt and Josh Carter of Texas A&M - all of whom had flashes of brilliance in the evening session. Washington's Jon Brockman and and 'Bama's Richard Hendrix are two of the big men who have showed a nose for the ball and the ability to reboudn and finish.

On the flipside, Tenessee's Chris Lofton, Duke's Jon Scheyer and Marquette's duo of Jerel McNeal and Wesley Mathews have not distinguished themselves the way their credentials suggest they should.

. . . We'll work the post session interviews on your behalf and then file a Day 2 re-cap later tonight and then be back with a mid day update on Saturday.
