Big Birmingham Hello

By Jeff Lippman - October 24, 2007

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Greetings from SEC Media Day.

It's still early here -- one hour earlier than all you East Coasters -- and the rest of the media is getting settled, checking media guides or stuffing their faces.

For the first post of the day, I'd like to just set a schedule for those reading to follow, as I will be following this schedule throughout the day.

Tipoff 2008 will be a two-day event with men's and women's coaches and players stopping by for interviews on a set agenda. Only six teams go per day and today should prove a good start.

After SEC Commish Mike Slive speaks starting around 10:30 a.m. ET, he will be followed by Supervisor of Officials Gerald Boudreaux...raise your hand if you just can't wait to hear what Boudreaux says.

After that, the fun stuff begins when the players and coaches become available for interview, three at a time.

The first grouping will be Arkansas, Florida and LSU.

The Razorbacks' coach John Pelphrey, Billy Donovan and LSU's John Brady all should be available around 11:30 p.m. ET with their players. For Arkansas, Charles Thomas and Patrick Beverley will make an appearance, for Florida only Walter Hodge. LSU brings Garrett Temple and Tasmin Mitchell.

I'll be back with what they said throughout the day.
