Lafayette Spending Offseason Overseas

BALTIMORE -- Lafayette coach Fran O'Hanlon kept busy in the off season, making trips with his team to Italy, France and Japan.
His team may spend even less time at home during the actual season, due to an interesting schedule quirk. Lafayette must endure through a midseason composed of nine straight road games.
"We're basically on the road for a month and a half," O'Hanlon said.
Though it may difficult to keep his team sharp with every week involving a road trip, O'Hanlon has confidence in his team, despite it being picked last in the Patriot League in the preseason poll.
O'Hanlon pegged senior guard Matt Betley as a player to watch this season. Betley is the team's leading returning scorer, averaging 10.9 points per game a year ago.
"He works hard, and has great leadership," O'Hanlon said.
