Layup Lines, AKA Dunk Contest

By Bailey Heaps - October 12, 2007

WASHINGTON -- Men just went through layup lines, which was basically a glorified dunk contest. A year ago at Midnight Madness, with his dad in the gym, Patrick Ewing Jr. tried some amazing dunks but ended up missing several of them. He certainly made up for it this year.

Here is a rundown of the various dunks seen tonight:

- Pat Ewing did a Vince Carter like one-hand dunk then hang by the crook of the elbow. 10/10
- Jon Wallace: made a dunk. That is good enough.
- Austin Freeman: windmill.
- Jessie Sapp: 360
- Vernon Macklin: ditto.
- Roy Hibbert: windmill
- DaJuan Summers: alley-oop reverse dunk
- Ewing: Took off, put the ball behind has back, and then dunked sideways with one hand. 11/10
- Tyler Crawford: Tossed off glass
- Ewing: That might have been a 540.
- Freeman: Toss in front, catch, dunk
- Macklin: Toss of glass from three-point line, dunk
- Sapp: Two hand Tomahawk.
- Ewing: Took over just inside FT line

The next entry might be the best.
