Sadler and Turgeon Pressers

By David Scott - October 17, 2007

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- We got way behind with the Knight festivities, so we'll need to combine -- briefly -- some of the comments from Nebraska's Doc Sadler and Texas A&M's Mark Turgeon.

We also need to sneak in a bathroom break, so if we miss some of the Greg McDermott, Sean Sutton and Frank Martin pressers, we'll try and make up for it when one-on-one time commences.

Doc Sadler:

On where his team is headed:
"I think we're getting closer to where we want to be. We're much better athletically on the wings. We can defend better and I don't think we've sacrificed any shooting ability."

On what he learned last season, his first in the league:
"The thing I learned last year is that in this league it's so difficult to score. If you think you're just going to pound it and pound it inside, that's not going to happen."

Mark Turgeon:

On sophomore guard Donald Sloan:
"I don't want everyone to assume Sloan will be our point guard. he will play some point, but whether he will be a starting point guard for us is yet to be determined. Dominique Kirk has more of a mindset to be a point guard. Sloan will play some point and some 2-guard, you need to remember point is not his natural position."

On junior guard/forward Josh Carter:
"Our system is perfect for him. When we were at Kansas, the 2s and 3s always did well. What we're trying to do is improve his all around game -- his ball handling and his mid-range game. We ant him to use his height for his mid-range game and he's got the length to be a great defender."
