A New Two For SDSU

By Rhiannon Potkey - March 14, 2008

LAS VEGAS -- The two players hurting BYU most aren't the ones many would have predicted.

San Diego State's guards -- Richie Williams and D.J. Gay -- have heated up from outside to get the Aztecs back in the game.

The duo hit back-to-back three-pointers to give SDSU a 10-7 lead and the Aztecs are up, 12-9.

BYU's Lee Cummard displayed his co-Player of the Year status by skying in for a tip rebound follow. But BYU's guards haven't been able to hit anything from outside in the last few minutes, and San Diego State has slowed BYU's bread-and-butter transition game.
