BYU Back In Title Game

LAS VEGAS -- BYU will get another shot to play for the Mountain West Conference title.

The top-seeded Cougars pulled away down the stretch and hit their free throws late to beat No. 4 San Diego State 63-54.

The 24th-ranked Cougars (27-6) will play either rival Utah or UNLV in tomorrow's championship game at 4 p.m. PT. BYU lost to UNLV in the title game last year.

BYU, which has won 15 of its last 16 games, will be attempting to win only its second MWC title in the tournament's nine-year history. The Cougars won the title in 2001.

Trent Plaisted played a big part in giving BYU a cushion that would hold by finishing shots around the rim.
