LAS VEGAS -- Second-seeded UNLV won its second straight Mountain West Conference tournament title with a 76-61 victory over No. 1 BYU, but the postgame ceremony was marred by numerous fights breaking out in the stands.

The UNLV students stormed the floor despite repeated warnings to remain in their seats, and got involved in several altercations with the BYU contingent. At least one BYU fan was left bloodied, and punches were thrown.

UNLV guard Wink Adams was named the Most Valuable Player. He caught fire at the end and scored 14 straight points to finish with 23.
